Offshore Crane Operator Training stage 1 and 2

The training course will introduce delegates to crane operations terminology. Upon completing the training course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and explain key elements of relevant legislation.
  • Understand the responsibilities of the crane operator
  • Understand the safety implications attached to that role.
  • Use the main crane controls and safety devices,
  • Understand working limitations of cranes.
  • Understand and control hazards during crane operation.
  • Understands crane maintenance and inspection needs.
  • Operate a crane and do a basic lifting plan. 

Duration of the Training: 

This crane Operator training stage 1&2 has a duration of five days with a ratio of 30% theory and 70% practice. We can organise the training onsite in Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Central African Republic, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea and the Central African Republic.

Pre-requisite of the Training Program:  

There are no pre-requisite to this crane operator training course, however, participant will be expected to provide evidence of a medical/eye test to confirm their depth of vision and that they are not colour blind. they should be able to speak basic English or French.

Training methodology:

Exposees, debates, brainstorming, Video projection, Exercises, Presentations.

Training Venue:

The crane operator training stage one course can be organized in our premises or in your premises upon request. Practical sessions are carried out onsite

This crane operator training stage one course is intended for individuals that have little or no crane operating experience and wish to gain theoretical and practical knowledge of crane operations in an offshore environment as well as onshore.

Module 1 Introduction to Offshore Crane Operations
Element 1.1 The roles and responsibilities of an offshore lifting operations team
Element 1.2 The principles of offshore crane operations
Module 2 Offshore Crane Operations
Element 2.1 Legislation, regulations and safe systems of work
Element 2.2 Preparation for a crane lifting operation
Element 2.3 Conducting crane lifting operations
Note: Module 2 practical elements will be undertaken in a crane depending on the experience of the delegate
