Banksman and Slinger Training Course

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Successfully do a simple JSA for a lifting operation
  • Sling loads appropriately
  • Flag the crane operator appropriately.
  • Carry out visual inspection of slings before using them
  • Understand the color coding and marking of slings.
  • Use the different lifting accessories appropriately.
  • Follow the hands off procedures and employ taglines and push poles
  • Understand the SWL and WLL of equipment and accessories

Training Duration:

This Banksman and Slinger training will be organised in days with a ratio of 30% theory to 70% practical. These include classroom exercises, videos, practical slinging, flagging and hazard identification and control sessions. We can organised this banksman and slinger most often on site so as to give participant the best hands on training on everyday equipments.

  

Training Prerequisite:

The Banksman and Slinger training has no prerequisite however, it is recommended that participants be able to read and write basic english or french.

MODULE 4 PRACTICAL EXERCISES

  • Element 4.1 The role of a Banksman & Slinger in a planned lift.
