Hy-classe Training, a company specialized in providing safety, Health, Quality and Environmental training courses to companies operating in the oil and gas industry, communication, aviation has trained crane operators of subsea 7 and Exmar offshore.
 
For a  period of Five days, Hy-classe Training gave a power pact training session including hands on practical exercises on the operations of cranes  both onshore and offshore.
 
During the five day training session animated by Hy-Classe Training’s team of experts, participants received in-depth knowledge on the various hazard to which they are exposed while working on an offshore oil and gas installation, the severity of each hazard and resources they can use  to manage the hazards.
 
 
The trainees went deeper  into  crane operations in the offshore and construction industry, they gained  knowledge of Crane Operation with a great focus on applicable Legislation, Standards and Manufacturer’s Specifications, reading and determining load charts and load weight, pick up points and center of gravity, selecting, inspecting and attaching slings, using appropriate hitches and connecting hardware, hazard identification, pinch points, danger zone, proper body positioning, crane controls, operation procedures and pre-use inspection, load control, tag line use and signaling

Participants demonstrated ability to Identify and explain key elements of relevant legislation interpreted and read load charts. Understand the responsibilities of the crane operator and the safety implications in crane operations, they made use the main crane controls and safety devices in the crane and showed prove of their understanding of working limitations of cranes and do a basic lifting plan.
