Hy-classe Training, a company specialized in providing Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental Training Courses to companies operating in the oil and gas sector has completed a Safety Induction Training session for Employees of Lasie Services drilling for SOCO in Pointe Noire Congo. During the ten day training session animated by Hy-Classe Training’s team of experts, participants received in-depth knowledge on the various hazard to which they are exposed while working on an offshore oil and gas installation, the severity of each hazard and resources they can use to manage the hazards.
The training built following guidelines from the IADC, the HSE, the OGP and Osha expounded on the importance of adhering to company policies in the execution of operations offshore, the course laid emphasies on Hazard communication offshore, the permit to work system and how it should function, the stop program and how to identify, correct and report hazard using the stop card, basic lifting and slinging techniques, bloodborne pathogens, the use of the abraisive wheel, the prevention of manual handling injuries through proper lifting techniques, the basic process of drilling an oil and gas well, the component of a drilling rig, working in confined spaces, basic safety while using the forklift truck, basic fire fighting and fire prevention, Basic first Aid, Hazwoper, hearing protection and conservation, the use of PPE, working at height and fall protection, heat stress at work, the development of a simple JSA and many other safety concerns as applicable in the offshore oil and gas industry.
